I was with Lambeth IOM when I first met the staff at AIR Sports Network. Before I got involved I was in a bad way, I was selling drugs, smoking cannabis and on occasions had been involved in really negative behaviour. I was out clubbing every night, living a really selfish lifestyle, nothing except myself was important.
To be honest at the time I didn’t have a real care in the world, had little thought for anyone and had few emotions for anything.
When I got involved, things began to change, slowly at first but after a while things began to make sense. The staff helped me to see myself in a positive way, they motivated me and before long I was doing courses, going to the gym and meeting new people. I learned about patience and working hard to achieve something, before I had just wanted stuff and hadn’t wanted to do anything for it. I knew what it was like to be happy and healthy and before long I was staying out of trouble permanently. I was then enrolled in the TUCA course with the support of the staff team at ASN and I've not looked back since.
My goal is to finish my apprenticeship and stay out of trouble. I’m in a good place so I'm sure I’ll achieve it. Then I want a full time job and to start a family, I know what I need to do and how to get there. The staff team really helped me to get me where I am now.
I got a lot from being with AIR, they went out of their way to help me and made me feel valued, they were always available when I needed them and showed me that people are good. I want to say thanks to the team for all their help and only wish this could be all over London.
