“I found out about AIR Sports Network through a friend who was already going to their sports sessions.
I went along myself to speak to the staff about what they did and how the partnership with CRI worked, I was a bit sceptical about working with a drug and alcohol service but when I saw how they worked with people I thought it was really cool. Before I came to AIR Sports Network I was angry with my life, depressed and I felt very isolated, on my own, I wasn't leaving the house and was doing all the wrong things.
My life felt like it was standing still, kind of static, I wasn’t moving forward. Since joining AIR Sports Network I attended the Boxercise classes and through those I gained the confidence to do a peer mentoring course which gave me the opportunity to volunteer as a peer mentor for CRI in Lewisham. Just a few months ago I would never have thought I’d be doing that. Since joining AIR Sports Network I have stopped smoking cannabis and for the first time in years I feel my life is moving forward and changing for the better. In the short term I want to continue what I am doing and hopefully later gain a permanent role in this sector, I have a lot of negative aspects from my previous life that I can use positively to help others.
I would say to anyone interested in AIR Sports Network, don’t miss the opportunity if you get it, it’s a life changer. AIR Sports Network is excellent, what they said they would do they did and it did not take months, it was quick and exactly when I actually needed the help and the support. Thank you AIR Sports Network, thank you CRI"
